The Chestnut Family Foundation has committed $2,000,000 to Global Village Project’s New Village 100 capital campaign. The campaign, which launched earlier this year, will enable GVP to move to their new home and more than double their current capacity to 100 students.
In October 2023, GVP purchased a new property not far from their current school. The new campus features three buildings with 26,600 square feet of space that sits on 3.2 acres of land in a quiet residential neighborhood. The campus will have 12 large classrooms, a STEAM classroom, a teachers’ lounge, a volunteer lounge, ample office space for school counselors and nurses, and more.
The Global Village Project is a nationally recognized, three-year accelerated, special-purpose middle school for refugee girls in Decatur, GA. The school currently serves around 45 students annually at no cost to the students. GVP is the only school in the U.S. dedicated to meeting the unique educational needs of recently resettled refugee young women and preparing them for high school and beyond.
We're proud to continue our partnership with Global Village Project and the incredible work they are doing to serve the young refugee women community!
